ART IS A JOURNEY FROM REALITY TO DREAMS – KAT ALYST

What makes you believe in fantasies? It’s obviously an art that makes you bold enough to live a life with all possibilities. With art, everything seems possible, which is the major reason Kat Alyst chose to be an artist who lived her fictional world by capturing moments and creating surreal narratives as a photographer.

The Texas-based photographer Kat Alyst is the combination of a professional graphic designer and a creative photographer. A girl who spent her childhood suffering in this world could not accept her due to her weird looks and fictional thoughts. It was new for her to adopt these sufferings, but soon she realised how to tackle this kind of life when she got a camera.  It was a day when she changed her life forever and shocked the world through her artistic mindset. A mindset where dreams are alive, and fiction is more powerful than reality.

She went to an art school to broaden her vision and got her Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts with a major focus on graphics design and a minor in photography. She luckily got scholarships due to her creative artwork and learnt more and more to fuel her passion for the art world.

Kat is always inspired by the stories and narratives to express through real-life experiences, stories and various colour palettes. She always aims to capture photographs where people can reflect on themselves and feel good and positive about life.

The Concept behind the Appealing Artwork

Her art is about spreading awareness of art with a fictional mindset and stories that seem impossible in real life. She put feelings from pain to glee in conceptual photoshoots and later featured in some famous magazines and media companies.

Recently, she connected with a famous art gallery in Los Angeles— The Shockboxx Gallery. She sold her new work there, and the gallery uploaded it on Artsy due to its appealing and catchy art vibes. She has also been featured in LA WEEKLY, V Magazine, ARTSY, VOGUE, NEW YORK WEEKLY, LA WIRE and so on.

Last year in 2021, she did her solo show “Someone is trying to tell you something” in LA Weekly, Los Angeles, CA.
